Water Softener Brine Tank Leaking

Water softener brine tank leaking. My water softener is leaking. Epoxy usually will not fix the leak. At american home water and air we ve seen plenty of people puncture their brine tank by poking at a salt bridge too aggressively. Of that some place on the fiberglass tank there is a small crack or that the top or bottom area where the valve screws on to the tank that ring or the bottom ring is leaking.
The brine tank is where you place salt. Many times after someone has broken up a salt bridge or moved the softener the bottom of the tank develops a leak. A water softeners salt tank will overflow when the systems brine water float shut off assembly fails to shut off the water feed and one or both of two other things happen. In this case i do know where it is because salt is coming out of the crack.

The system either did not remove all the brine from the tank before refilling it or the system continued to add water to the tank beyond the correct level. Step 1 using your permanent marker if you know where the leak is make a reference mark for later. The salt is only in the brine tank and not in the rest of the softener. Step 2 disassemble the water softener and remove the insides so you only have the reservoir.
Detecting the leakage may be a tedious task but you ll have to inspect every part of the system to see where the water comes through.
