A baffle plate can be a spherical dish flat plate angle iron cone elbow or just about anything that will accomplish a rapid change in direction and velocity of the fluids and thus disengage the gas and liquid. Baffle plates are long flat plates mounted to the interior of a mixing tank such that they protrude inward toward the center of the tank to disturb the swirling fluid.
