Straw Insulation Panels
Straw panels ensure an excellent and healthy microclimate for a building via temperature and air humidity regulation while also serving as an excellent sound insulator.
Straw insulation panels. Excellent thermal insulation thermal storage and sound insulation as well as a high resistance to mold pests and fire. A minimum of wood is used to achieve a construction that is cost effective and with no thermal bridges. One big advantage of straw bale over conventional wood frame construction is that a straw panel will be able to dry to either side compared to most homes that include an impermeable barrier of polyethylene that prevents drying to the interior during our hot humid summer months which can cause condensation and hence excessive vapor mold in the house walls. In spain the company okambuva is using cereal packaging machines to compress the straw to a much higher density than is possible by hand.
Straw panel building with ecococon and strawbuild. The ecococon straw panel technology is unique providing both a double frame load bearing construction element and at the same time the main insulation of the building. Modcell allows super insulated high performance low energy passive buildings to be built using renewable locally sourced carbon sequestering materials that include straw and wood to create a less than zero carbon construction system. Alfawall load bearing straw wall panel.
The panels have a dense and strong structure allowing for all furniture electronic devices pictures etc to be mounted on walls or the ceiling using ordinary wood screws.
